My friend Francis comes to UK for a race. Last year, I came with him and against all odds, I did some mechanics workshop nearby the track. I helped him to fix the bike. This year, the race is on a track in Walles. I’m busy in Paris and could not go back to put my hands in the grease. but soon I will go back again and will do some headshots too.

Bye Bye Mac Book Pro Video card

The camera was too close to a wall and the Pocket Wizard attached on it hurt the wall and the socket attachment was in two parts after this encounter.

This PW was an emiter, not a transceiver. So no way to trigger my flashes with it anymore. Every Pocket Wizard I & II body share the same plastic parts. So in less than 15 mins. I unscrewed that broken body and made a rapid exchange between the emiter and receiver socket that do not need any socket to be connected or to be properly utilised as a reciever exept be attached somewhere.
I got the opportunity to get there and for some time I will appreciate it. To sleep in your own bed and to take a shower in your own shower is, we may say, common until you Spendi a night in a trailer in automn. That is an experience. my custums are usually to do camping in summer but doing this in the middle of England in september is another way of thinking about a trailer.
The Track is on the territory of the Duke of Norfolk and had former life as an RAF airfield during WWII. Nowadays the two straight lines to land planes are straight tracks where you can be at full throttle, as mad as you can be.
A big city, a Roccoco Palace, time clocking before the meeting hour, the repporter not still in the place : you never be lonesome as in the middle of the great crowdy veranda preparing to do a great portrait of a worldwide famous mexican writer unknown by me... I really appreciate the today zen attitude I feel, sat and waiting for my flight back to France. Nothing to do comparing to yesterday at the same moment. It always seems to me difficult to share 5 minutes of a stranger’s life rather than 5 days of a friend’s one. I have to figure out that all the walls colapse between him and I. It was as if I’ll walk on the side of a road without any sight at the cars passing on my side, as if I would read the unwritten in the white margins of his books and my hand featherly gently lingning the edge of the book. I look at him, I talk about my nervosity beeing in front of him, I know he is more serein than I am. We decide to speak english together. I move on, I move back. I seats, I kneel. He talk to me, I whisper to him. I speak with the brilliant light of Madrid, he illuminates himself. I close the book with a handshake showing to Carlos Fuentes the last picture I took of him, the one you use to do after the press attendant said ‘ Now it’s over ’. He looked at it and gave me a ‘That’s the best I ever saw.’ it does my heart good and I went back to my hotel.

Ático in Madrid

A log time ago I began to learn portuguese and it sounds like a bit of nostalgia now. I was 18-yo, in love, attracted by this country, especially the town with this incredible bridge as an echo of the ones in USA, and also the «little Corcovado » hidden behind the bridge, echos to the one on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. That said, I forgot almost everything since I started to learn spanish, deliberately to avoid confusions in my mind due to similarities between the too idioms. With first Obrigado in my heart, I travel to Matosinhos close to Porto to make a special thing in this country.

With my friend Daniel Mordzinski, I arrived in an empty room of a museum with only a large printer and some photographing stuff.
Day by day, the walls was covered of beautiful prints I have processed after helping Daniel to make portraits of festival attendants and personalities of this festival called Literatura em Viagem (LeV).

The immersive experience was when I took the high velocity train and arrived in Lisbon at the Calatrava station (Oriente) not really in the center but a station that was made to bring people close to the World-Wide Exhibition of Lisbon 1998. I met in center a friend, the writer Antonio Saravia and his wife. They let me discover the neighborhood around Bairro Alto. We had a drink in the special place called «Pavilhão Chinês», a bar that contains more stuff I would collect in my whole life as a decorating items.

One more time I was looking for what I don’t know. Walking in the city, without knowing exactly what I’m looking for, let me walk’n walk tying to avoid tourists groups, trying to get in touch with people in the bars, be open minded.

Secret Service Harassement

this week, I photographed Ayaan Hirsi Ali, for El Pais, the daily spanish newspaper.
